Prelene Kannemeyer

Prelene Kannemeyer is a qualified and compassionate Speech-Language and Hearing Therapist based in Benoni, Gauteng, with over 5 years of professional experience across both public and private healthcare sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Speech-Language and Hearing Therapy from Stellenbosch University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from UNISA.

Prelene has served diverse populations—from children to older adults—across multiple facilities, including Aliwal North Provincial Hospital, Fort Beaufort Hospital, and Nurture Rynmed Rehabilitation Hospital. Her clinical expertise includes the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.

She has a special interest in neurorehabilitation, autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, and augmentative communication systems such as Makaton. In addition to clinical care, she has supervised final-year university students and delivered professional training to nurses, caregivers, and educators.
